About the Role

  • As a Reconciliation Specialist, you will be responsible for gathering, posting, and reconciling payments from various sources.
  • You will work independently to resolve complex problems, integrating deep understanding of reconciliation areas with industry standards and practices.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage incoming payments to ensure timely reconciliation.
  • Retrieve and post remittances from applicable payor websites when available.
  • Review remittances for adjustments and transfer balances as needed.
  • Respond to questions related to payment application and collaborate with onshore teams to resolve account variances.
  • Research and correct keying errors, documenting root causes and discrepancies.
  • Identify trends in improved internal processes and systems.
  • Adhere to defined platforms, client, payer, and/or internal standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines.
  • Ensure all workflow items are completed within set turn-around-time and quality expectations.
  • Reconcile payments to reflect accurate transactions in the accounting system.
  • Perform daily financial transactions, verifying, calculating, and posting accounts receivable data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field with 3-7 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles.
  • Good understanding of insurance accounting and reconciliation processes.
  • Accounting expertise, familiarity with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet applications and software applications.
  • Detail-oriented with strong mathematical and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High proficiency in common business applications like Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, Teams.
  • High level of competency with reconciliation.
