The role of an Electrical Design Engineer is crucial in ensuring the successful execution of solar project sites.

This position involves on-ground electrical design support, preparing/modifying site-specific drawings when needed, and ensuring smooth coordination with the Engineering Team for timely project delivery.

  • Review and understand electrical drawings issued by the Head Office, including SLDs, cable schedules, earthing layouts, lighting, SCADA layouts, AC/DC Trenches, etc.
  • Prepare or update site-specific electrical designs/drawings, such as cable routing, earthing design, junction box placement, LT/HT panel room layouts.
  • Perform basic electrical design calculations, including cable sizing, voltage drop, earthing resistance, load balancing.
  • Ensure site execution complies with approved drawings, standards, and codes (CEA, IEC, IS).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar electrical design tools.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems in solar projects: PV array to inverter interconnection, LT/HT cabling, transformers, switchgear, earthing & lightning protection systems, SCADA and metering.
  • Knowledge of CEA, IEC, and IS codes applicable to solar plants.
  • B.E./B.tech in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
  • 5-8 years of experience in electrical design and site execution (solar/renewable/industrial projects preferred).
