About the Role

At UnitedHealth Group, we are committed to helping people live healthier lives and making the health system work better for everyone. We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Technology Officer - Software Engineering to lead our software engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of software engineers to develop and maintain complex software systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in software development.
  • 2+ years of experience in leading and supporting a team from a technical perspective.
  • Proficiency in adhering to best practices, following coding standard guidelines, and participating in code reviews.
  • Extensive experience with ASP.NET, C#, and .Net Core 6+ Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Solid knowledge and experience in CSS3, HTML5, Angular 16+, and other modern web development frameworks.
  • Extensive experience in web services, Web Api, RESTful services, microservices, and API security best practices.
  • Extensive experience using SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and SQL profiling/performance tuning.
  • Experience with Entity Framework or equivalent experience with other data access technologies.
  • Experience in system design and building secure distributed applications.
  • Solid knowledge in SOLID principles, Enterprise Design Patterns, Event-Driven Architecture, and Kafka.
  • Understand the concepts and best practices of DevOps and modern CI/CD.
  • Demonstrated skills in active listening with the ability to express oneself clearly and effectively.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in collaborating, influencing, problem solving, and negotiating.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in GitHub actions.
  • Experience or knowledge in Azure Cloud.
  • Experience or knowledge in Playwright Automation framework.
  • Solid organizational skills and focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Agile development experience using Scrum.
