Job Summary

The Comcast Unified Communications Engineering team is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to deploy cloud-native applications and services. You will also be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing scalable and fault-tolerant infrastructure to be used by services and applications.



About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a DevOps engineer. You will have experience using DevOps toolchain and container orchestrations such as Kubernetes and Docker. You will also have experience with cloud platforms including OpenStack (preferred) and AWS. In addition, you will have experience in building and operating scalable infrastructure stacks, experience in Linux systems administration, and knowledge of deploying applications built on programming languages such as Golang and Python.



Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include:



  • Designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to deploy cloud-native applications and services
  • Designing, deploying, and managing scalable and fault-tolerant infrastructure to be used by services and applications
  • Deploying updates to applications, services, and systems as required and implementing integrations when needed
  • Troubleshooting any issues that arise during testing and production by working with others to solve the issues
  • Working with lead onshore and offshore engineers to automate deployments and processes as needed to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Installing and managing container orchestration software and repositories
  • Working with CI/CD, source control, code scanning, observability, dashboards, and alerting tools
  • Monitoring and analyzing resource usage to recommend/develop enhancements to system capabilities and performance


Requirements

The requirements for this role include:



  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a DevOps engineer
  • Experience using DevOps toolchain and container orchestrations such as Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience with cloud platforms including OpenStack (preferred) and AWS
  • Experience in building and operating scalable infrastructure stacks
  • Experience in Linux systems administration
  • Knowledge of deploying applications built on programming languages such as Golang and Python
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools like Ansible and Terraform
  • Knowledge or understanding of using and maintaining CI/CD tools such as ArgoCD and Concourse
  • Experience with monitoring and managing cloud resources, services, and systems
  • Experience with observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk/Elastic Search, Alerta
