Job Title: MEP Manager

The role of the MEP Manager involves overseeing the entire Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design, execution, and preparation process for projects. This includes working closely with the project management team to ensure timely completion and high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Development: Preparation of Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs), Light Looping layouts, Power & floor raceway designs, Fire Alarm Systems (FAS), Fire Pump Systems (FPS), Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, Public Address (PA) systems, Intruder alarms, Cable tray layout, and power panel arrangements.
  • Bills of Quantities (BOQs): Development and standardization of BOQs with quantities and rates based on rate analysis workings.
  • Load Calculations: Creation of Electrical & heat load sheets based on design requirements.
  • Equipment Procurement: Equipment specification, selection, vendor drawing review, purchase, factory testing, start-up, and commissioning support.
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Assisting in the creation of SOPs for the complete design-to-execution cycle.
  • Detailed Engineering Activities: Implementation of detailed engineering MEP activities, finalization of requirements and specifications, preparation of technical specifications, scope, deliverables, estimates, and BOQs based on project requirements.
  • Onsite Project Management: Onsite monitoring and execution of projects.
  • Vendor Management: Vendor follow-ups for projects.
  • Measurements and Certifications: Measurements check and certifications of projects.
  • Financial Closure: Follow-ups for financial closure of invoices.
  • Breakdown Support: Execution and personal supervision of major breakdowns.
  • Routine Maintenance and Repairs (R&M): Follow-ups for R&M issues closure with store teams as well as vendors.
  • Material Supply Chain: Ensuring timely delivery of materials at site by vendors.
  • Utility/ Energy Consumption Tracking: Utility/ energy consumption tracking and records maintenance.
  • Handovers: Assisting in store handovers.
  • Liaison and Negotiation: Liaising and negotiating with contractors, building supplies industry, council services, and other relevant organizations.
  • Energy Monitoring and Benchmarking: Keeping accurate records and regularly collecting energy monitoring data. Carrying out site inspections and energy surveys. Benchmarking energy consumptions against best practice guidelines.
  • Legislative Compliance: Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislation such as government amendments in energy/power.
