Job Title: Senior Big Data Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Big Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS, Python, and PySpark.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable big data architectures using AWS services such as Amazon EMR, Amazon Athena, and AWS Glue.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to design and implement data pipelines that integrate with various data sources.
  • Maintain and improve existing big data systems to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in big data and provide recommendations for future development.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years of overall IT experience, including hands-on experience with big data technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Python and PySpark programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, including dimensions, facts, schemas, snowflake, and star.
  • Experience with columnar storage formats, compression techniques, and AWS databases (at least one).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
