Mortgage Origination Role

Overview of the Mortgage Origination Job:

This position is responsible for overseeing the entire mortgage process, from application to closing.

Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and manage team members, including training, hiring, and performance reviews.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Possess working knowledge of RESPA/ TRID review and other federal, state, and industry compliance requirements.
  • Customer Interaction: Professionally interface with title companies, clients, real estate agents, mortgage loan officers, and mortgage lenders to ensure a successful close.
  • Service Enhancement: Elevate service levels for customers by assisting in the application process, overseeing all mortgage loan closings, and completing all post-closing requirements quickly.
  • Quality Control: Ensure future salability and quality control of residential mortgage loans and refinances by adhering to all lender underwriting guidelines and federal and state regulations.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 6-8 years of Mortgage Origination experience (Post Closing review, PQA etc) and Correspondent experience (End to End value chain) in US Home Loan products.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of mortgage industry regulations, including TRID guidelines.
  • Management Experience: Management experience in human resources or as operations manager is needed.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Supervision Skills: Good supervision, organization, and math skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.
  • Judgment Skills: Sound judgment skills essential to make quick decisions within written policy and standard operating procedures.
