Senior Engineering Manager Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management:

    • Build and scale the engineering organisation to meet the demands of a rapidly growing company.
  • Product Delivery:
    • Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle.
    • Drive a customer-centric approach to ensure products meet user expectations.
  • Technical Excellence:
    • Uphold and enhance engineering best practices and quality assurance processes.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and mitigate risks related to engineering projects.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with product management and other key stakeholders.
    • Foster strong communication channels to facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
  • Resource Planning and Budgeting:
    • Develop and manage engineering budgets to optimise resource allocation.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a senior engineering leader.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in software development methodologies, architecture, and technologies.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving strategic initiatives and delivering results.
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelors or advanced degree in computer science or a related field.
