Job Title: Buying and Merchandising Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Buying and Merchandising Manager to spearhead our Home Décor category. The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, an eye for design trends, and hands-on experience in inventory management, product sourcing, and cross-functional collaboration.

The role requires the ability to analyze sales trends, inventory movement, and forecast demand for efficient stock planning. You will also be responsible for maintaining trackers for vendor management, payments, logistics, returns, and damages.

To succeed in this position, you must be able to conduct trend and market research to curate relevant product assortments. Additionally, you will manage vendor development, negotiations, sampling, POs, and timely deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement seasonal and category-wise buying plans (furniture, lighting, planters, tableware)
  • Inventory Management: Analyze sales trends, inventory movement, and forecast demand for efficient stock planning
  • Vendor Management: Maintain trackers for vendor management, payments, logistics, returns, and damages
  • Market Research: Conduct trend and market research to curate relevant product assortments
  • Supply Chain Management: Manage vendor development, negotiations, sampling, POs, and timely deliveries
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with stores and warehouses for stock audits, replenishment, and inventory flow
  • Marketing Support: Collaborate with marketing and ecommerce teams on launches, campaigns, and product uploads
  • Design Support: Support design and content teams with updated catalogues and visual assets

Requirements:

  • Experience: 4–6 years of experience in Buying & Merchandising (preferably in home décor, furniture, or lifestyle retail)
  • Skillset: Proficiency in Excel and inventory/merchandising systems (SAP, ERP, Wondersoft, etc.)
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Leadership Abilities: Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Retail Experience: Familiarity with B2C, experiential, or lifestyle retail formats preferred
