Job Title: Senior Technical Specialist

We are seeking an experienced technical specialist to lead our team in the implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes and standards.

This is a key role within our organisation, requiring a high level of expertise in BIM software, data management, and project coordination.

  • Develop and implement BIM processes and standards across projects, ensuring seamless information exchange among stakeholders.
  • Facilitate collaboration among architects, engineers, contractors, and other project team members using BIM software.
  • Oversee the development of detailed 3D models using BIM software, ensuring they accurately represent the design intent and comply with industry standards.
  • Manage and organise vast amounts of data associated with the BIM model, ensuring it is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to all relevant parties.
  • Utilise clash detection tools within BIM software to identify and resolve conflicts in the design before construction, reducing the likelihood of rework and cost overruns.
  • Generate construction documentation directly from the BIM model, ensuring consistency and accuracy in drawings and specifications.
  • Implement quality control processes to review BIM models for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Provide training and support to team members on BIM tools and processes, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in BIM technology, exploring innovative ways to enhance the design and construction process.
Key Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of Revit and other BIM software.
  • Core knowledge of MEP services with specialisation in one service as a minimum.
  • Knowledge of 3D modelling tools such as Revit, Navisworks would be desirable.
  • Experience in preparing general arrangement drawings.
  • Experience in all stages of drawings such as Concept, Schematic, Detail design and GFC.
  • A robust knowledge of building services design and experience of services full co-ordination.
  • Must have knowledge of BIM CAD standards and be aware of engineering terminology, must have experience on international projects.
  • Self-motivated, team player and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Flexible attitude in an environment with frequently changing deadlines can be relied upon to meet deadlines.
  • Committed to both their work and personal development with a willingness to widen their experience including knowledge base and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
  • Good level of written and spoken English.
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years of professional experience ideally having worked on major Middle East, UK projects.
  • Proven track record in building services design with different types of sectors including high rise, commercial, residential, retail, healthcare, industrial, refurbishment, etc.
  • Proven record as a BIM lead on several projects having led a team of moderate to big in size.
  • Experienced at presenting to clients, architects, attending demanding client meetings, preparing project proposals for agreement, arranging project resources, planning and execution of projects.
