
Senior Procurement Specialist

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Procurement and Vendor Management: Source and procure spare parts, consumables, and technical equipment for vessels.
- Negotiate with Suppliers: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and high-quality products.
- Vendor Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure reliable support.
Order Processing & Coordination:
- Purchase Requisitions: Process purchase requisitions from vessels and fleet management teams efficiently.
- Order Tracking: Ensure accurate and timely order placement, tracking, and follow-ups.
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to arrange timely delivery of goods to vessels at ports worldwide.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Procurement Budget Monitoring: Support the monitoring and control of procurement budgets.
- Cost Savings Opportunities: Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality or safety.
- Invoice Review: Review and verify supplier invoices and ensure accurate documentation for payment processing.
- Timely Clearance: Ensure timely clearance of invoices in the system and follow up on pending payments.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities are in compliance with company policies, maritime regulations, and classification society requirements.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor agreements.
- Audit Assistance: Assist during audits related to procurement and inventory management.
Technical Support & Communication:
- Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate closely with vessel superintendents and technical teams to understand and fulfill purchasing requirements.
- Alternative Solutions: Provide alternative solutions when specific parts or equipment are unavailable.
- Order Status Updates: Keep vessels updated on order status and delivery timelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Vessel Maintenance: Solid understanding of vessel maintenance and dry-docking requirements.
- Maritime Regulations: Familiarity with international maritime regulations.
- Procurement Software: Proficiency in procurement and inventory management software.
- International Logistics: Experience in international logistics and customs clearance for marine spares.
