Snowflake Developer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Snowflake Developer with in-depth experience in DBT (Data Build Tool) to join our dynamic team. As a key player in developing and optimizing modern data pipelines, you will be responsible for designing efficient data models, managing CI/CD pipelines, and contributing to innovative cloud data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Develop Snowflake Data Models : Architect, design, and implement robust and scalable data models within Snowflake, optimizing them for performance, storage, and efficiency.
  2. DBT Transformation Development : Leverage DBT to build, test, and deploy SQL transformations, ensuring that data is transformed and organized efficiently.
  3. CI/CD Pipeline Development & Maintenance : Design, implement, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for automated DBT workflows to enhance deployment speed and reduce manual efforts.
  4. Implement Best Practices for Snowflake and DBT : Ensure the adoption of best practices for performance optimization, scalability, and data pipeline efficiency in Snowflake and DBT environments.
  5. Data Pipeline Troubleshooting and Resolution : Troubleshoot complex data pipeline issues in Snowflake and DBT environments, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Snowflake Expertise :

  1. Minimum of 4+ years of experience working with Snowflake, including data modeling, schema design, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  2. In-depth knowledge of Snowflake's architecture, virtual warehouses, and storage mechanisms, as well as experience in setting up and managing Snowflake accounts and security.

DBT Experience:

SQL, Data Modeling, and ELT Proficiency:

  1. Strong expertise in SQL and data modeling, with the ability to write optimized SQL queries, analyze query plans, and refactor complex queries for better performance.
  2. Knowledge of ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes, ensuring the effective movement and transformation of large data sets in cloud environments.

Problem-Solving and Collaboration:

Bonus Qualifications (Optional):

  1. Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  2. Familiarity with data visualization tools like Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI.
  3. Experience contributing to open-source projects or active engagement in the DBT community.
