Backend API Developer Role Overview

Job Summary:

We seek a skilled Backend API Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development, with experience in designing and implementing RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Python and Node.js.

  • Design and implement scalable and secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Python (FastAPI) and Node.js (Express)
  • Develop and maintain containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Ensure API security through authentication, authorization, and encryption using OAuth 2.0 and JWT
  • Optimize performance with caching strategies, load balancing, and asynchronous processing
  • Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Maintain API documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production systems for reliability and scalability
  • Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of backend development experience
  • Strong proficiency in Python and Node.js
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
  • Experience with RESTful API design principles and best practices
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms
  • Proficient in version control systems (Git/GitHub)
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Strong debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills
