About the Role

APN Consulting Inc. is seeking a skilled Senior Quality Engineer to lead our Test Automation efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing and overseeing the test automation approach to deliver a comprehensive Test Automation Strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a test automation approach that includes CICD, non-functional testing, performance, security engineering, compatibility, and accessibility testing.
  • Drive improvements and innovation around tooling, frameworks, and approaches, focusing on shift-left principles and the automation pyramid.
  • Collaborate with POD leads and Squad leads to ensure the best value is driven through the automation approach, consistent with other PODs when beneficial.
  • Work with POD leads and the business/POs to ensure a holistic and consistent approach to Quality, through RCA, metrics, code quality, and defect stage containment.
  • Lead and federate the overall test approach to the Squads, including built-in quality, metrics, methods, and tools.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives focusing on Quality, Velocity, and Efficiency, agreed across the POD.
  • Ensure consistency across all Squads in line with POD strategy/maturity/priorities/global approach, undertaking quality reviews and deep dives to ensure a consistent approach.
  • Input into PI planning and subsequent resourcing planning, including skills profiling and identifying training requirements for POD members.
  • Identify supplier training requirements and feed into global KPI and supplier measures.
  • Provide timely reports with qualitative and quantitative analysis of test coverage, defect trends & leakage, enabling key stakeholders for timely course correction.
  • Define and design quality metrics and dashboards to enable the Pod lead & PO to frequently gauge the quality of the software.
  • Manage a team of Test Engineer leads and Test analysts.
About You
  • Strong understanding of Test Engineering and Quality Assurance best practices, tools, and policies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical colleagues in a cross-functional environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering Quality software solutions.
  • Strong Leadership skills and a team player.
  • Experience or knowledge of working with Agile at Scale, Lean, and Continuous Delivery approaches, such as Continuous Integration, Test-Driven Development, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience in Selenium tools and Configuring Selenium Test Environment (e.g., Eclipse IDE, Java, Selenium-C# etc...). Involvement in Test Environment Setup.
  • Familiar with Automation Framework Design and Implementation.
  • Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication in English and Romanian.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in Test automation languages and frameworks: JavaScript, Webdriver IO, Playwright.
  • Strong experience working with MSSQL, API test automation.
  • Good understanding of working with a source control system such as Azure DevOps/TFS, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
