Automobile Technician Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repair of Plant Machinery:
  • Perform routine inspections to identify potential issues and perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain production equipment such as conveyors, robotic arms, welding machines, and assembly tools to prevent downtime.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Record Keeping and Safety Protocols:
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, and repairs to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Follow established safety protocols and ensure adherence to plant standards to minimize risks.
  • Support audits and inspections by preparing relevant documentation to demonstrate compliance.

Technical Support:

  • Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:
  • Use diagnostic tools and instruments to identify faults in equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve equipment issues and implement solutions.
  • Monitor equipment performance and suggest improvements to optimize efficiency.

Inventory & Tools:

  • Spare Parts Management:
  • Manage spare parts inventory and request replacements as needed to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and safety gear to prevent accidents.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Diploma / ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile Engineering.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Basic knowledge of PLCs, motors, sensors, and industrial automation.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
  • Familiarity with TPM, 5S, and Kaizen practices.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and respond to emergency breakdowns.
