Job Description

QAD is seeking a Cloud Engineer - FinOps specialist with expertise in AWS and other private clouds. As a key player in managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure expenditure, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cost-effective usage of cloud resources, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and accountability within our cloud environment.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Analyze cost and margin trends, identifying opportunities for optimizing hosting costs within our SaaS architecture on AWS.


2. Implement strategies to reduce costs while maintaining high performance and scalability.


3. Collaborate with development, operations, and finance teams to align cloud infrastructure with business goals.


4. Ensure adherence to industry standards and security protocols in all cost optimization efforts.


5. Develop and lead consumption forecasting models alongside other financial analytics.


Qualifications:


• Professional degree: Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience.


• AWS certified Solution Architect Associate or equivalent cloud certification or experience.


• Strong understanding of cloud cost management and FinOps tooling.


• Reporting and Analytics generation through DevOps scripting (shell, Python, PowerShell, Jenkins, Ansible, and similar technologies).


• Hands-on knowledge of Public Cloud (preferably AWS) services.


• Strong ability to design and develop scalable automation.


• Wide breadth of experience working at all layers of the tech stack (database, applications, infrastructure).


Experience: 3-5 years of Technical experience.


Computer skills:


FinOps Tools, Data Warehouse experience, ETL experience, Proficiency in SQL programming.


Cloud Infrastructure: AWS


Containerization: Kubernetes (EKS)


Scripting: BASH and Python
