Key Responsibilities:

As an Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Estimator, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates for E&I projects, including material, labor, testing, commissioning, and subcontracting based on RFQs, drawings, and tender documents.
  • Analyzing technical specifications and scope of work from clients to identify project requirements and develop detailed estimation plans.
  • Preparing quantity take-offs (QTOs), bill of quantities (BOQs), and pricing sheets for MCCs, PLC/SCADA systems, power/control cables, lighting, grounding, etc.
  • Evaluating vendor/supplier quotes for electrical panels, transformers, VFDs, field instruments, PLC/DCS systems, etc., to ensure compliance with project requirements and budget constraints.
  • Factoring in local codes, safety standards, and utility norms in pricing to ensure accurate and compliant estimates.
Proposal Development

As a key member of the proposal team, you will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with designers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to develop techno-commercial proposals that meet client requirements and company objectives.
  • Participating in internal bid strategy discussions to suggest value engineering options and improve proposal competitiveness.
  • Supporting bid clarifications and negotiations by providing technical and commercial inputs to ensure successful bid outcomes.
Documentation & Risk Assessment

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and validating E&I sections of technical proposals, scope narratives, risk registers, and cost breakdowns to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assessing project risks (technical, commercial, vendor-related) and recommending mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts.
  • Assisting in developing benchmarks and cost databases for future projects to support informed decision-making.
Client & Team Coordination

You will play a key role in:

  • Interface with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to align estimation with project execution strategy.
  • Coordinate with OEMs, subcontractors, and system integrators for technical and commercial vetting.
  • Attend client pre-bid meetings and site visits as required to build relationships and gather information.
Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related engineering discipline.
  • PMP or Cost Estimation certifications (optional but beneficial).
Experience:

Minimum 8-15 years of experience in E&I estimation for water/wastewater projects, including STP, WTP, pumping stations, or desalination plants.

Proven track record with EPC or infrastructure contractors/consultants in India or overseas markets.
