Design Engineer - Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our team in the design and development of water and wastewater treatment plants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, environmental engineering or equivalent, with hands-on experience in structural design for water/wastewater treatment plants.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing detailed process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for packaged and modular STPs (MBR, MBBR, SBR, A^2/O, etc.). They will also perform mass-balance and hydraulic calculations (flow, retention time, settling velocities) to size tanks, clarifiers, and filters.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed designs for water and wastewater treatment plants, including PFDs and P&IDs.
  • Perform calculations to size tanks, clarifiers, and filters.
  • Create 3D models for clash detection between process piping, electrical conduits, and structural members.
  • Liaise with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to finalize civil-MEP interfaces.
  • Conduct site visits to verify foundation layouts, civil workmanship, and adherence to design specs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent with strong structural design exposure.
  • 4–6 years of experience in STP/ETP design, with hands-on involvement in civil and structural engineering for water/wastewater treatment plants.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and STAAD.Pro.
  • Familiarity with process-engineering software is a plus.
