Accounting Platform Engineer Job

Talent500 is hiring for a critical role in ensuring the stability and scalability of Accounting and Finance platforms.

About this Role:

The successful candidate will play a key part in delivering highly reliable financial applications and data services, ensuring they meet demanding requirements for accuracy, compliance, and availability that support business operations.

This position requires an expert in automation, operational excellence, and cloud infrastructure to build resilience into data pipelines and ensure auditability for accounting data.

We are seeking someone with hands-on expertise with monitoring/observability tools, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and IaC tools.

Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, and financial system integrations from an operational support perspective is essential.

We need a problem-solver who can manage incident response, conduct blameless postmortems, and ensure compliance, security, and audit-readiness in enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Accounting and Finance platforms meet defined SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs for performance, reliability, and uptime.
  • Build automation for deployments, monitoring, scaling, and self-healing capabilities to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
  • Implement and maintain comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging for accounting applications and data pipelines.
  • Lead and participate in on-call rotations, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements to prevent recurrence of production issues.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for capacity planning, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and compliance controls in financial systems.
  • Partner with software engineers, data engineers, and Finance/Accounting teams to ensure operational needs are met from development through production.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Production Engineering, ideally supporting financial or mission-critical applications.
  • Strong scripting/programming experience for automation and tooling.
  • Familiarity with containers and orchestration.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
