Product Design Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Design Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for the design and development of innovative products.

  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in CAD with expertise in Creo and proficiency in part design, GD&T, and SPI standards for plastic design.
  • They will collaborate with plastic tool makers and injection molders to ensure design for manufacture requirements and concept generation and creative problem-solving skills.
  • The Product Design Specialist will also be responsible for designing electromechanical enclosures, mechanical engineering design and analysis skills, including structural analysis of molded parts.
  • Proficiency in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) and rapid prototyping experience is required.
  • Cross-functional stakeholder collaboration is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Development: Develop innovative product designs that meet customer needs and market trends.
  2. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and sales to ensure seamless design and production process.
  3. Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve design-related issues through effective problem-solving skills.
  4. Communication: Effectively communicate design concepts and ideas to stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in CAD design with expertise in Creo.
  • Proficiency in part design, GD&T, and SPI standards for plastic design.
  • Experience in collaborating with plastic tool makers and injection molders.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
