Big Data Specialist

This is a senior-level role that involves working with large-scale data and developing efficient solutions to process it.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage of massive datasets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and develop robust data solutions.
  • Work closely with data analysts and scientists to design and implement data visualization tools.
  • Develop ETL processes using Informatica, Talend, Apache NiFi, Airflow, or custom ETL tools.
  • Write optimized SQL queries for data validation, transformation, and analytics.
  • Implement data governance, quality, and security standards in compliance with industry best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in big data and lead the team in adopting new innovations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, HDFS, Kafka, etc.).
  • Expertise in SQL query optimization, stored procedures, and complex joins.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools and processes.
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, fact/dimension tables).
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Redshift, GCP BigQuery, Azure Synapse, or Snowflake) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
