Job Description

This position will guide the technical design and code development processes across multiple modules. The incumbent will manage and execute these processes to provide the required artifacts and realization deliverables for global deployment.

This role requires advanced knowledge of programming languages, databases, and IT infrastructure as well as the ability to work within cross-functional teams from different businesses and various countries in a complex organization with differences in language, culture and time zones.

The selected candidate will lead the SAP application development team, establishing documented standards/work instructions for application design and code development. They will also provide leadership and work direction for the team, including developing work plans, preparing schedules, estimating efforts, reporting status, balancing workload between team members and identifying team capacity requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in all areas of the ABAP workbench, including List, interactive, & ALV reporting BAPIs and BDC scripts Adobe Forms, SMART Forms, SAP Script Dialog Programming User-Exits & Customer Enhancements IDOC Performance Tuning ABAP Objects Workflow Analyzing ABAP logs/dumps Researching SAP Notes Odata and BRF+

They will also have broad development experience with SAP modules - EWM, TM, GTS, SD, CRM, MM, PP, QM, FI, CO.

Additional responsibilities include reviewing and approving technical specifications to ensure adherence to development and document standards, providing initial estimates of effort for design and development, and validating detailed estimates from suppliers.

The selected candidate will also be responsible for working within Agile frameworks, participating in sprint planning, and providing regular updates on their progress, overseeing during application code development, ensuring adequate unit testing of code, making recommendations to SAP development teams to achieve best practices and high performance, and key participation for code reviews.

They will also provide technical expertise for resolving escalated application issues, participate in crisis meetings as necessary, monitor changes in application technical landscape, submit change requests to drive necessary technical upgrades, develop detail technical specifications as needed based upon functional specs, perform code development as needed to validate designs and maintain skills, and maintain technical knowledge of SAP application components and architecture.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
• Minimum 9 years SAP application development experience

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP Certified Development Professional - ABAP with SAP NetWeaver 7.0 or later
• Strong technical skills in all areas of the ABAP workbench
• Broad development experience with SAP modules
• Strong functional knowledge of Order to Cash (Sales & Distribution), EWM, TM and GTS processes
• Experience with Shipping, Deliveries & Transportation
• 5 years of recent experience in Object oriented ABAP programming
• Development experience in S/4 HANA is a plus
• Experience working with co-source/offshore resources on development projects
• Experience with developing interfaces between SAP and non-SAP applications
• Experience with a SAP global implementation project
• Excellent interpersonal, written and team collaboration skills
• Relationship building skills with counterparts at SAP and other partners
