Cyber Security Specialist Job Overview

This is a leadership role in cybersecurity operations and incident response. The successful candidate will oversee daily security monitoring, investigations, and incident responses.

  • Review proposed changes to firewalls, routers, IPS, and proxies to ensure they align with organizational policies.
  • Audit deployed rulesets to identify any drift from baseline configurations.
  • Monitor real-time security threats and analyze alerts to prevent potential incidents.
  • Triage potential security incidents according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform continuous improvements on services by identifying problems and gaps in knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Routing, HTTP, DNS, and SMTP.
  • Experience with network security technologies including firewalls, intrusion detection systems/Intrusion Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions.
  • At least 5 years hands-on experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and other security technologies.
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux/Windows operating systems and Shell/Bash/Python programming skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting technical information effectively.
