Job Overview

Boeing is seeking a highly skilled Materials Engineer to support the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies and processes into production systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials science and engineering, with experience in composites, metals, and other materials used in aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering and technical activities in the areas of materials, process, and physics for various Boeing programs.
  • Refactor Boeing specifications, parts, and processes to simplify engineering documents.
  • Review Boeing drawings, part lists, process specifications, and substitution lists to determine engineering requirements in the area of materials, process, and physics.
  • Evaluate industry specifications for materials and suggest alternatives to Boeing specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance to Boeing suppliers on structural assembly, machining, nonmetals, finishes, and electrical processes.
  • Evaluate and test emerging technologies in the area of structural assembly, machining, nonmetals, finishes, and electrical processes for potential application to business needs.
  • Support Boeing engineering qualifications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as mechanical engineering, production engineering, or materials science.
  • Shop floor experience in assembly, machining, finishes, and electrical domains, preferably in aerospace companies.
  • Strong written, oral, and business presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and familiarity with MS Office tools.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to interface with Boeing personnel around the world.
