WordPress Expert

We are seeking a skilled WordPress expert to join our team.

Job Description:
  • Maintain and extend a Composer-managed WordPress backend, ensuring seamless integration with front-end components.
  • Work closely with the development team to expose content and structure to a headless frontend using WPGraphQL.
  • Manage custom themes and plugins using Composer, including premium packages, and ensure their compatibility with the latest WordPress versions.
  • Implement and troubleshoot advanced custom fields (ACF Pro) and GraphQL integration, guaranteeing smooth data exchange between the backend and frontend.
  • Develop and optimize backend APIs used by frontend teams, focusing on performance, security, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with DevOps or use WP-CLI and other CLI tools for deployments, ensuring efficient and reliable operations.
  • Write clean, modular, and testable PHP code; write or maintain unit tests with PHPUnit to guarantee the high quality of the developed software.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience with Composer-based WordPress workflows and a deep understanding of WordPress as a headless CMS.
  • Solid PHP (8.x) experience and object-oriented programming skills, with knowledge of best practices in coding and software development.
  • Experience with WPGraphQL, ACF Pro, Timber, and Polylang, with a focus on multilingual WordPress setups and internationalization.
  • Familiarity with CLI tools: WP-CLI, Composer, Git, and Docker, with knowledge of local dev tools like LocalWP or XAMPP.
  • Experience managing plugins/themes as Composer packages and integrating third-party APIs (e.g., Guzzle, HTTP Foundation).
