Network Documentation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to develop and implement a structured documentation framework for our network infrastructure.

This role involves working closely with the network team to gather data, convert designs into standardized templates, and train the team on maintaining and expanding the documentation.

The primary focus is to establish templates and organization for as-built diagrams, contact information, runbooks, and design guidelines. The resulting setup should be intuitive, easy to navigate, and seamlessly integrate into our standard build process.

  • Design and develop a structured conventions framework for documenting network details in Confluence.
  • Create standardized templates for site documentation, runbooks, and design guidelines to ensure consistency and ease of access.
  • Convert existing network design data into Lucid templates aligned with the new structure.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Gathering data from the network team to understand site-specific details and accurately represent the current network state.
  2. Piloting the documentation process on a subset of sites, serving as an example and training model for the team to follow for remaining and new sites.
  3. Developing training materials and conducting sessions to ensure smooth adoption of the new documentation structure.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong experience with network documentation and designing structured documentation frameworks.
  • Experience using Confluence as a documentation platform.
  • Familiarity with Lucid chart or similar diagramming tools for network design templates.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with technical teams and gather site data.
