We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to join our construction team as a Project Engineer.

Job Description

This role involves supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of civil construction projects, ensuring technical accuracy, schedule adherence, quality compliance, and safety on-site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning: Assist in preparing construction schedules and work plans.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with design teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Resource Management: Identify project requirements and assist in resource planning.
  • Construction Execution: Oversee day-to-day construction activities to ensure alignment with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Site Management: Supervise subcontractors and site teams to maintain quality and progress.
  • Troubleshooting: Resolve on-site technical issues in coordination with the engineering and design team.
  • Documentation: Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
  • Preparation: Assist in preparing method statements, shop drawings, and material submittals.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain updated records, daily progress reports, and as-built documentation.
  • Quality Control: Ensure work complies with quality standards, codes, and project specifications.
  • Inspections: Conduct inspections and coordinate with the QA/QC team to rectify non-conformities.
  • Material Management: Monitor material testing and ensure the use of approved materials.
  • Safety Management: Implement safety practices on-site in compliance with HSE policies.
  • Safety Briefings: Conduct safety briefings and enforce personal protective equipment usage.
  • Incident Reporting: Report and document incidents or safety violations.
  • Procurement: Assist in quantity take-offs and verification of subcontractor/vendor bills.
  • Cost Control: Monitor material consumption to minimize wastage and control costs.
  • Logistics: Coordinate timely procurement and delivery of materials to avoid work delays.
  • Communication: Attend site meetings with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Progress Updates: Communicate progress, risks, and issues to the Project Manager promptly.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain strong working relationships with all project participants.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
  • At least 2-5 years of experience in civil construction projects is necessary.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and MS Office Suite is essential.
  • Familiarity with national building codes, IS codes, and construction safety standards is required.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills are necessary for this role.
