Senior ASIC Physical Designer Position

This role involves the creation of top-notch physical designs for complex integrated circuits. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of all aspects of physical design, from floorplanning and placement to budgeting and timing analysis.

The successful applicant will work closely with the methodology team to optimize the design flow, ensuring that designs are implemented efficiently and effectively. Experience with EDA tools such as DC, ICC2, Cadence Innovus, STAR-RC, PT-SI, Verplex, Quartz, and Calibre is highly desirable.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing full-chip and block-level physical designs
  • Leading the development of new design methodologies and flows
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements
  • Maintaining and improving the quality of our physical design processes

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Expertise in ASIC physical design and related technologies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Unix, TCL, and Perl scripting languages

Preferred qualifications include experience working with Synopsys/Cadence/Mentor place and route tools, familiarity with advanced process nodes (16nm and 7nm), and a track record of taping out complex chips.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years experience in ASIC physical design
  • Experience with block implementation, extraction, timing, and or full-chip designs
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong hands-on TCL/Perl development skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience as a full-chip floorplanning, routing, or timing lead for a large silicon project
  • Track record of taping out complex chips on advanced process nodes
