Job Overview:
The Senior Cyber Security Governance Lead will be responsible for developing and leading the governance framework for the organization's cyber security and information protection initiatives. This role ensures compliance with industry regulations, internal policies, and best practices while overseeing risk management and governance processes to safeguard the organization's information assets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Governance Framework Development
- Design, implement, and maintain the cyber security governance framework, ensuring it aligns with industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, etc.) and organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to establish governance policies, strategies, and risk management plans.
2. Policy and Compliance Oversight
- Lead the development, review, and maintenance of information security policies, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
- Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring that security controls and compliance measures are in place and effective.
3. IT Security Risk Management
- Identify, assess, and manage information security risks across the organization, to mitigate and monitor risks.
4. Regulatory and Standards Compliance
- Ensure the organization complies with relevant regulatory requirements on data protection laws and cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Lead risk assessments, regulatory audits and drive continuous improvement based on audit findings and lessons learned.
5. Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, compliance, IT, and business units, to align security governance with overall business objectives.
6. Awareness and Training
- Develop and oversee a security awareness program to educate employees and stakeholders on governance, risk, and compliance issues related to cyber security.
7. Incident Response and Reporting
- Oversee the development and enforcement of incident response protocols, ensuring compliance with governance policies during security incidents. Monitor and report on governance metrics, trends, and incidents.
- Perform periodic Cyber Drills.
- Data Leakage Prevention Control Reviews.
- Technology Risk Assessment and Reviews.
8. Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on emerging threats, regulatory changes, and evolving best practices to ensure the governance framework remains current.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in information security, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 15 years of overall experience and 7+ years of relevant experience in Information and Cyber security governance, risk management, or compliance roles, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and regulations like IRDAI/RBI/SEBI/Data Privacy.
- Strong understanding of risk management, audit processes, and information security best practices.
- Experience leading governance functions within large, complex organizations.
- At lease any one professional certifications (CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or CGEIT) are highly Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent knowledge of cybersecurity, privacy, and risk management concepts.
- Proven track record of delivering governance and compliance solutions in highly regulated industries.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing cyber security policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
