Job Title:

 

Data System Designer

 

Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data systems using Snowflake as the primary data warehousing solution.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • ETL Pipelines:
    • Build efficient ETL pipelines using Snowflake Tasks, Streams, and Stored Procedures to extract, transform, and load data into the data warehouse.
  • Data Modeling:
    • Design data models with clustering keys and optimize micro-partitioning to improve query performance and reduce storage costs.
  • Real-time Ingestion:
    • Implement Snowpipe for real-time ingestion of external data sources and external tables for data lake integration.
  • Stored Procedures:
    • Develop JavaScript/SQL stored procedures and UDFs for complex transformations and aggregations.
  • Complex Queries:
    • Write complex SQL queries with window functions, CTEs, and pivots to analyze and report on business metrics.
  • Warehouse Management:
    • Manage multi-cluster warehouses and implement resource monitors for cost control and optimization.

 

Requirements:

  • Snowflake Experience:
    • Hands-on experience with Snowflake development and a strong understanding of Snowflake SQL and basic JavaScript stored procedures.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Working knowledge of Tasks, Streams, Stages, File Formats, Time Travel, dbt core concepts (models, sources, tests, snapshots), and semi-structured data (JSON/XML).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
