Machine Learning Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will be responsible for using machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) to collect a high-volume of data for the PitchBook Platform and surface insights for our users.

The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn and deliver value through scalable machine learning systems. A strong motivation to succeed is critical and everyone has the opportunity to shape the long-term direction of our team.

This role requires a strong background in Python programming, experience with NLP and ML techniques, and ability to work closely with software development team(s). Experience building scalable systems in production is a plus.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Feature Development: Understand the design and develop new Features and Services using Python language.
  • NLP and ML Application: Apply NLP and ML techniques to create novel views of private industry data, enhancing decision-making, and insights.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Product and Engineering teams to automate processes for large-scale data, improving data management, and analysis.
  • Insight Extraction: Analyze unstructured data such as articles and conversations to identify unique signals of private company performance, aiding market trend prediction.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree: Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related fields.
  • Programming Experience: 2–4 years of experience with Python or other object-oriented programming frameworks.
  • NLP and ML Experience: 2–4 years of experience with natural language processing (NLP).
  • SQL Queries: Experience using complex SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Data Presentation: Strong communication and data presentation skills.
