Kubernetes Cluster Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Kubernetes cluster engineer to design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure clusters on Amazon EKS.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and deploy highly available and fault-tolerant Kubernetes clusters.
  • Configure and optimize worker nodes, networking, and storage for optimal performance.
  • Monitor cluster health and capacity to ensure efficient resource utilization.
Monitoring Kubernetes Metrics:
  • Set up monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) to track cluster performance metrics related to resource utilization, pod health, and scaling.
  • Analyze metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement optimizations.
Service Management:
  • Create and manage Kubernetes services (LoadBalancer, NodePort, ClusterIP) to ensure service discovery and load balancing for microservices.
  • Implement deployment strategies (e.g., blue-green, canary) to minimize downtime during updates.
Configuring Networking & Services:
  • Set up network policies, ingress controllers, and DNS resolution to ensure secure communication between pods and services.
  • Integrate with AWS networking services (VPC, Route 53, ALB/NLB) to leverage their scalability and security features.
Troubleshooting Cluster Components:
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to pods, nodes, and networking to ensure high availability and uptime.
  • Debug application failures and performance bottlenecks to improve overall system efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 4-6 years of hands-on experience in Kubernetes administration, specifically within Amazon EKS.
  • Kubernetes Knowledge: Proficiency in managing Kubernetes clusters, including pod deployment, networking, and troubleshooting.
  • AWS EKS: Familiarity with Amazon EKS services, worker nodes, and integration with other AWS components.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IAC): Experience with tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for infrastructure automation.
