The Senior Financial Manager will oversee the financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and compliance functions of the organization. This role involves managing project accounting, ensuring adherence to statutory regulations, and supporting business growth through strong financial governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  2. Ensure timely MIS reporting, variance analysis, and financial projections.
  3. Monitor project-wise profitability and cash flow management.
  4. Implement cost control measures to optimize project margins.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  1. Prepare annual budgets and forecasts in alignment with business objectives.
  2. Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide actionable insights.
  3. Track project-specific budgets and support project managers with financial data.

Project Accounting & Control

  1. Supervise accounting for construction projects including work-in-progress (WIP), billing, subcontractor accounts, and material reconciliations.
  2. Ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies specific to construction contracts.
  3. Manage contract accounting, retention money, and escalation claims.

Compliance & Audit

  1. Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.
  2. Liaison with auditors, banks, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities.
  3. Implement and monitor internal controls, policies, and procedures.

Treasury & Fund Management

  1. Manage cash flow requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  2. Maintain relationships with banks for working capital, term loans, and BG/LC facilities.
  3. Monitor interest costs and optimize fund utilization.

Leadership & Development

  1. Lead and mentor the finance team across multiple project sites.
  2. Build capabilities for financial discipline at the site and corporate levels.

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost Accountant (CMA) / MBA (Finance).
  • 12-18 years of experience in Finance & Accounts, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in the construction industry.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems - SAP preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting standards.
  • Expertise in taxation, statutory compliances, and financial controls.
  • Proven ability to manage project costing, billing cycles, and subcontractor accounts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Leadership, team management, and effective communication abilities.
