Job Overview
The Data Architect plays a pivotal role in shaping the organization's data infrastructure, working closely with stakeholders to create effective data models for databases and data warehouses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement data architectures and logical/physical data models for databases and data warehouses.
- Foster partnerships with engineering teams to adopt, scale, and build data products.
- Design, develop, and implement a data warehouse to integrate data from various sources within an organization.
- Develop strategies for data acquisition, recovery, and database implementation.
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand business needs and articulate the value created through data and technology.
- Drive prioritization and implementation of data engineering methodologies and frameworks to ensure optimal scalability, flexibility, and performance of platforms and solutions.
- Establish and manage standards for naming conventions, data definitions, ownership, documentation, procedures, and techniques.
- Adeptly handle enterprise-level and project-level data modeling, including model management, consolidation, and integration.
Requirements:
- Typically requires 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; or 10 years and a Master's degree in Computer Science.
- Demonstrated strength in examining issues, driving resolution, and influencing effectively across the organization.
- Superb interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders.
- 3+ years leading data engineering teams and excellent understanding of business domains within the industry.
- 5-8 years of progressive experience with Data Modeling.
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in Cloud Architecture (AWS) and cloud-based databases (Redshift) and various data integration techniques using DBT, SQL/PySpark, Python.
- Experience with ER Studio/Erwin data Modeler, Power BI/Tableau or Microstrategy or equivalent tool.
- Strong database development skills like complex SQL queries, store procedures.
