Senior Logistics Coordinator Job

Job Description:

The successful candidate will oversee the planning and execution of ODC shipments, ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams and external stakeholders. Strategic cargo planning and execution are critical components of this role, requiring a deep understanding of customer requirements and vessel schedules.

Additionally, the Senior Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for developing cargo movement strategies in alignment with customer needs and operational feasibility. This includes rate quotation and negotiation, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability.

Key responsibilities also include coordinating vessel bookings in the EBMS system and with carriers, collaborating with the planning team to secure space, and monitoring carrier bookings for timely updates of rates and vessel information.

Another crucial aspect of this role is inventory and equipment management, which involves supervising container allocation, arranging Empty Container and CSC certificates as required by carriers, and optimizing container inventory planning to meet customer demands and minimize turnaround time.

Effective communication with customers regarding container pickup status, required documentation, and compliance with List & VGM cut-offs is essential. The Senior Logistics Coordinator must also oversee coordination for ODC permissions with operations and carriers to ensure smooth container gate-in processes.

Performance metrics across planning, execution, and customer service functions will be monitored and used to drive operational excellence. Process improvements will be implemented to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.

Finally, the Senior Logistics Coordinator will ensure timely ON-BOARD confirmation is shared with customers and direct the planning and operations team to complete RCVS and LODF entries post-shipment confirmation.
