Job Opportunity

The Enterprise Application Database Administrator will be responsible for managing the application environment, database administration, and performance tuning. Key responsibilities include installation, configuration, patching, cloning, and upgrades of enterprise application environments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the installation, configuration, patching, cloning, and upgrades of enterprise application environments.
  • Database Administration: Manage databases supporting these applications, including performance tuning, space management, user administration, and troubleshooting database-related issues specific to the application layer.
  • Patching & Maintenance: Plan and execute regular patching cycles for both the application tier and database tier, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Cloning & Refresh: Perform application and database cloning for development, testing, and training environments.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor the performance of both the application and database layers, identifying bottlenecks and implementing optimizations to enhance system responsiveness.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to application and database environments, collaborating with functional teams and vendors as needed.
  • Backup & Recovery: Ensure robust backup and recovery strategies are in place and regularly tested for application environments.
  • Monitoring: Set up and maintain monitoring tools for application and database health, proactively addressing potential issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of application architecture, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with functional teams, developers, infrastructure teams, and system administrators to support business operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as an Enterprise Application Database Administrator, ideally with expertise in large enterprise applications.
  • Strong experience with application patching, cloning, and upgrade processes.
  • Proficiency in database administration, including performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security.
  • Familiarity with application architecture.
  • Strong scripting skills (Shell, Perl, Python) for automation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, critical production environment.
