Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Costing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the cost structure of our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely cost settlement with suppliers for sheet metal, machined, rubber, and plastic parts.
  • Protect profit margins on part costs in accordance with internal customer requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Settle costs with suppliers using Zero Base Costing (ZBC) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methodology.
  • Monitor commodities monthly and analyze expenses to identify areas for cost reduction.
  • Amend raw material prices as necessary, either monthly, quarterly, or half-yearly.
  • Visit suppliers to understand their capabilities on cost drivers and identify areas for improvement.
  • Optimize input raw materials and post-operation expenses to minimize costs.
  • Settle Machine Hour Rates (MHR) with suppliers for press, CNC, VMC, and coating processes at competitive prices.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce expenses and generate cost-saving ideas.
  • Negotiate with suppliers based on thorough analysis and data-driven insights.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Process understanding: drawing, forming, machining, surface finishing.
  • Raw material grades understanding.
  • Quality systems knowledge: IATF 2016, core tools APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA.
  • Rubber, injection molding, and blow molding process understanding.
  • Machine MHR rates and raw material rates understanding.
  • AUTOCAD and 3D software knowledge.
  • Location-wise labor and electricity charge knowledge.
  • Skill set enhancement methodology for productivity and efficiency improvement.
  • Line balancing, KANBAN, JIT, and TQM technique knowledge.
  • Tax structures and legal compliance knowledge.
