Job Title: SCADA Engineer

About This Role:

This is a challenging position for individuals with experience in designing and implementing industrial automation systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science or engineering, as well as proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of industrial automation systems, ensuring seamless integration of hardware and software components, and providing technical leadership to project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement industrial automation systems using Ignition SCADA and MES applications.
  • Develop and maintain secure and efficient data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols.
  • Ensure seamless integration of OT systems, PLC, SCADA, MES with enterprise IT systems, ERP databases, and cloud platforms.
  • Manage industrial databases, SQL historian, timeseries databases for high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to align system capabilities with production and business needs.
  • Provide technical leadership in digital transformation initiatives, Industry 4.0 smart manufacturing, and predictive analytics.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and support existing SCADA/MES deployments to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across the engineering team.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in MES functions, production tracking, OEE, downtime analysis, traceability, SPC, etc.
  • Proficiency with database technologies, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with OT/IT integration technologies.
  • REST APIs for system interconnectivity.
  • MQTT for IIoT messaging and lightweight communication.
  • OPC UA for industrial interoperability.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLC, SCADA, HMIs, and plant floor connectivity.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards, ISA95, ISA88, ISA99, IEC 62443.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with cloud-based IIoT platforms, Azure IoT, AWS IoT, etc.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments.
  • Familiarity with containerization, Docker, Kubernetes for SCADA/MES deployments.
  • Experience in working on large-scale digital transformation, Industry 4.0 projects.
  • Certifications, Ignition Gold Certified Specialist, OPC UA, or relevant industrial IT/OT certifications.
