Job Description

Cloud Operations Engineers Drive Business Success

At a cutting-edge technology firm, we're seeking an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer to propel our cloud infrastructure forward. This skilled professional will be responsible for managing and optimizing our cloud resources to achieve maximum efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor daily/weekly usage, spending patterns, and billing reports across AWS, Azure, and GCP platforms, identifying and highlighting anomalies in cloud infrastructure costs.
  2. Develop and maintain scripts/automation (Python, Bash, or similar) for cost reporting, resource clean-up, and efficiency improvements, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  3. Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to optimize compute, storage, and database resources, eliminating waste and reducing unnecessary expenses.
  4. Identify and implement reserved instances, savings plans, auto-scaling policies, and storage lifecycle policies to minimize spend, utilizing native tools like AWS Cost Explorer, CloudWatch, GCP Billing, as well as third-party monitoring platforms.
  5. Leverage expertise in cloud cost monitoring & optimization to drive business growth, while maintaining high standards of infrastructure reliability and scalability.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with AWS and/or GCP services (EC2, S3, IAM, GKE, BigQuery, etc.).
  • Strong background in cloud cost monitoring & optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Python, Bash, Shell, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of SRE concepts: reliability, scalability, monitoring, and automation.
