Executive Lead for Wholesale Model Development

The primary goal of this leadership role is to spearhead the development of wholesale risk models and collaborate with senior management to execute strategic risk governance and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic & Leadership: Establish a Centre of Excellence for wholesale rating models, provide thought leadership, and contribute to model development and validation best practices.
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop and communicate impactful presentations to senior management and board-level committees, engage effectively with stakeholders across the credit lifecycle, and support governance and audit readiness.
  • Technical & Delivery: Design and implement end-to-end processes for development, validation, and lifecycle management of wholesale rating models, develop and validate various models, including corporate/wholesale rating models.
  • People Management: Build, mentor, and lead a team of modelers and consultants, drive capability building and continuous learning within the team.
Wholesale Model Monitoring
  • Outline performance goals, considering accuracy and relevant metrics based on model purpose.
  • Determine expected model performance on historical data.
  • Implement continuous monitoring tools to assess model performance.
Climate Risk Analytics
  • Develop statistical climate risk models integrating economic and social data to understand climate risks' impact.
  • Develop climate scenarios based on emission pathways and climate change projections.
  • Incorporate policies and regulations related to climate change into model development.
Requirements
  • Strong foundation in Statistics and Mathematics, hands-on experience in developing and validating wholesale rating models.
  • Proficient in programming languages like R and Python, experienced in data analysis and visualization using Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Hold a degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Passionate about risk management and advancing credit risk modeling science.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with fluency in English.
