Android Automotive Framework Engineer

HARMAN International is seeking a highly skilled Android Automotive Framework Engineer to join our team. As a senior-level software engineer, you will play a key role in coordinating and implementing Android Automotive OS platform features and customer-facing features of our connected, embedded infotainment system.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for requirement analysis, realization of functionality in Android Automotive domain, and development of different modules/components in Android Automotive System.
- Responsible for multiple component ownership for Android Automotive System, delivery of software for software integration, and ensuring the implementation of defined test strategies.
- Ensure pre-integration testing and verification for the functional area and its features, traceability, consistency of requirements, and feature maturity.
- Defect triaging and resolution, working with other domains for the resolution of dependencies on features and defects, and mentoring less experienced team members.
- Solid working experience with software life-cycle methodologies, collaboration within an agile cross-functional team environment, and strong leadership, planning, and organization skills.
- Mentoring skills to assist less experienced team members, expert knowledge about the Android Framework, AOSP platform architecture, and related build system.
- 8+ years of working experience in modifying Android framework components, system services, and the Android SDK, strong Java, C++ programming skills, and good understanding of Android Automotive System and Car Framework.
- Proficiency in Java, or Kotlin, and Object-Oriented Programming, expertise and working knowledge in one or more domain are mandatory in IVI SYSTEM (Connectivity, Multimedia, VPA, EVS, Cluster rendering, ADAS, Navigation, Automotive HMI, Vehicle HAL).
- Solid understanding of Android best practices and mechanisms for ensuring robustness and stability of the system, hands-on experience writing UNIT test cases for developed Android Modules, and exposure to Android build system.
- Knowledge on any Git, Gtest, and SVN and Tortoise configuration Tools.
