Job Overview

As a highly skilled security automation engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing automated workflows to streamline security operations. This role involves collaborating with SOC teams to automate repetitive tasks, creating custom scripts to extend SOAR functionalities, and integrating multiple security tools for efficient incident handling.

The ideal candidate should have expertise in SOAR platforms, strong scripting skills, and hands-on experience in building security automation workflows. They must also be able to work closely with L1/L2 analysts to understand manual workflows and translate them into automated playbooks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing automation playbooks within SOAR platforms
  • Integrating multiple security tools with SOAR for automated incident handling
  • Collaborating with SOC teams to automate repetitive tasks
  • Creating and maintaining custom scripts to extend SOAR functionalities and integrate unsupported tools
  • Building and optimizing detection logic, correlation rules, and incident enrichment pipelines across SIEM/SOAR platforms
  • Maintaining and optimizing integrations with security platforms
  • Providing documentation, knowledge transfer, and training on automation workflows to SOC teams
  • Ensuring automation aligns with security best practices, compliance, and operational efficiency

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in security operations, automation, or SOAR engineering
  • Hands-on expertise with SOAR platforms such as Palo Alto XSIAM, QRadar SOAR, or similar
  • Experience with SIEM solutions
  • Strong scripting/programming skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or JavaScript
  • Proven ability to design and deploy custom integrations and APIs for automation workflows
  • Familiarity with incident response processes and SOC operations
  • Experience working with cloud security platforms and SaaS security integrations
  • Understanding of security domains such as phishing defense, malware analysis, threat intel, IAM, and vulnerability management
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
