Mechanical Design Engineers are required at solar project sites to ensure execution of mechanical works is in line with approved engineering designs and industry standards.

The role also provides real-time design support for site-specific modifications in module mounting structures (MMS), trackers, and mechanical layouts, acting as a bridge between the Head Office Mechanical Design Team and Site Execution Team.

  • Review and interpret mechanical design drawings issued by HO (MMS, trackers, layout, fabrication drawings, assembly details).
  • Prepare/modify site-specific mechanical drawings when required (MMS foundation depth adjustments, structure alignment changes, fabrication detailing, anchoring).
  • Verify MMS foundation positions, tilt angles, and row spacing as per design.
  • Support fabrication, welding, and erection quality checks against approved standards.
  • Provide design clarifications/modifications at site and coordinate with HO for approvals.
  • Coordinate with civil and electrical teams to resolve interdisciplinary design issues.
  • Support site teams in resolving mechanical erection bottlenecks (torque requirements, alignment, module clamping).
  • Maintain proper documentation of design revisions, approvals, and as-built records.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design/drafting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of MMS, trackers, and steel structures used in solar projects.
  • Understanding of IS/IEC codes, wind load standards, welding/fabrication practices.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection of welding, bolting, and module installation.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
  • 5–8 years of experience in mechanical design and site execution (solar/renewable/industrial projects preferred).
