Job Title: ADA / PDF Accessibility Specialist
Description:We are seeking a highly skilled ADA / PDF Accessibility Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all digital documents and websites meet the required accessibility standards.
This includes auditing, testing, remediation, document/PDF accessibility, and compliance reporting. You will work closely with design, development, and QA teams to ensure that our products meet ADA, WCAG, and Section 508 compliance requirements.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of accessibility standards and experience in auditing, testing, and remediation of digital documents and websites. They should also be proficient in HTML5, ARIA, CSS3, JavaScript, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess: Conduct automated & manual audits for websites, portals, LMS, documents (Word, PowerPoint, PDFs), and multimedia content
- Test: Perform real-user accessibility testing with screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
- Remediate: Provide clear, prioritized fixes and hands-on remediation support for PDFs & Office documents (tagging, structure, alt text, headings, forms, reading order), Videos & multimedia (captioning, transcripts, audio descriptions)
- Guide developers on accessible coding practices (ARIA, semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Prepare VPATs/ACRs and client-facing accessibility conformance documentation
- Advise clients on ADA, Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2, and emerging US/state accessibility laws
- Support quarterly monitoring & ongoing compliance programs
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA Title II/III, Section 504/508
- Hands-on with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, Axe, WAVE, SiteImprove, Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Proficiency in HTML5, ARIA, CSS3, JavaScript (React/Angular a plus)
Soft Skills:
- Strong documentation/reporting skills (audit findings, VPAT/ACR)
- Experience supporting federal, state, or higher education contracts preferred
Preferred Certifications:
- IAAP CPWA (Certified Professional in Web Accessibility)
- IAAP WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist)
- IAAP ADS (Accessible Document Specialist)
- DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester
- IAAP CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies)
