Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned professional with expertise in designing, building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines and architectures. This role is critical to the development of new data products and the modernization of existing platforms.

About the Role:
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Create scalable data pipelines using various tools and technologies.
  • Develop and optimize ELT/ETL processes for efficient data integration.
  • Sustain and evolve data models that drive operational and analytical workloads.
  • Modernize legacy systems by migrating workloads to cloud-native platforms.
  • Cloud Development & DevOps (AWS-Focused):
  • Build, deploy and manage cloud-native data solutions using AWS services like S3, Lambda, Glue, EMR, Redshift, Athena and Step Functions.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost and security.
  • Evaluate scalability, resilience and compliance of AWS-based data platforms.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with product managers, analysts and engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Contribute to the data platform modernization roadmap and support new product delivery.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or an equivalent technical role.
  • 5+ years of hands-on AWS Cloud Development & DevOps experience.
  • Strong expertise in SQL, data modeling and ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Deep experience with Oracle (PL/SQL, performance tuning, data extraction).
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (networking, security, cost optimization).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Snowflake.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with modern orchestration frameworks (e.g. Airflow, dbt).
  • Exposure to data cataloging, governance and quality tools.
