Job Opportunity: Coffee Procurement Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Coffee Procurement Specialist. This role is field-intensive and requires strong technical expertise, relationship skills, and passion for coffee.

  1. Visit coffee farms and curing works across Karnataka to evaluate beans before purchase.
  2. Carry out quality checks from farm collection to curing and sorting.
  3. Cup and evaluate samples to ensure consistency with export specifications.
  4. Prepare traceability and quality reports for each lot procured.
  5. Coordinate procurement activities once contracts with suppliers are finalized.
  6. Manage logistics from farm to curing works and up to export stage (sampling, weighment, warehousing).
  7. Maintain strong relationships with farmers, suppliers, and curing units.
  8. Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Farm Evaluation: Visit coffee farms and curing works across Karnataka to assess bean quality.
  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough quality checks from farm collection to curing and sorting.
  • Cupping and Quality Analysis: Evaluate samples to ensure consistency with export specifications.
  • Reporting and Record Keeping: Prepare detailed traceability and quality reports for each lot procured.
  • Procurement Coordination: Coordinate procurement activities once contracts with suppliers are finalized.
  • Logistics Management: Manage logistics from farm to curing works and up to export stage (sampling, weighment, warehousing).
  • Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with farmers, suppliers, and curing units.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Coffee Industry Expertise: Proven experience in the coffee industry (procurement, quality control, cupping, or farm-level operations).
  • Green Coffee Knowledge: Strong understanding of green coffee beans, grading, curing processes, and cup quality analysis.
  • Documentation Skills: Ability to maintain accurate documentation for traceability and compliance.
  • Export Logistics: Familiarity with export-related logistics and processes is an advantage.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in Kannada (mandatory); basic English for reporting and supplier/buyer coordination.
