Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine test scope and plans – Develop comprehensive test plans based on requirements and obtain approval from management and development teams.
  • Establish testing metrics and manage test effort – Calculate the effort required for a release and assess quality using key metrics such as defect density and open defect count.
  • Lead and mentor the QA team – Balance resources, identify skill gaps, and provide training and mentorship to team members.
  • Choose and optimize test tools and frameworks – Educate team members on the use of appropriate tools and provide thought leadership for automation initiatives.
  • Build scalable automation frameworks – Automate UI and API test cases to increase coverage using tools such as Selenium and BDD frameworks.
  • Track testing activities and progress – Ensure timely delivery and coordinate smoke tests during peak periods.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders – Participate in sprint planning, stand-up meetings, and design sessions to communicate status updates and coordinate with development, product, and business teams.
  • Prepare risk mitigation plans – Address issues that testers face during the cycle and retain skilled resources by providing leadership opportunities.
  • Create a positive, collaborative environment – Plan knowledge-transfer sessions to ensure continuous improvement and team engagement.
