We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our team at State Street Risk Analytics, where we combine unique capabilities in data and analytics to better serve our clients and build relationships with new customers. Our goal is to help our clients generate maximum value through information and insights, investment analytics, and data solutions.

Our truView platform is a web-based application providing a full suite of analytics that give clients insight into the risks and performance of their investment portfolios. It supports all asset classes, producing analytics such as stress testing, value-at-risk (VaR), position-specific analytics for derivatives (delta, gamma, vega, etc.), and fixed income characteristics like duration and convexity.

Job Responsibilities
This role involves managing systematic model testing for VaR, Vol, TE, stress testing, and supporting back-testing. You will address client queries on investment risk-related concepts, reconcile risk results against accounting reports and independent data, and investigate further when necessary. Additionally, you will provide timely and accurate market data for internal Market risk systems and analyze time-series data for information content useful to Risk Managers.

Key Focus Areas
Your key focus areas will include:
  • Understanding various processes to generate risk numbers retrieved by different risk feeds.
  • Evaluating and analyzing Market risk exposures using statistical and other approaches.
  • Accurately and timely processing, operations, and controls.
  • Building engagement with service providers and driving KPIs.
  • Providing support, resolving client issues, and demonstrating a firm understanding of the product to users (managers, traders, etc.).

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • 10+ years of experience in Financial Services, specifically in Investment Risk Operations.
  • A good understanding of all financial instruments, including complex OTC products.
  • An understanding of regulatory requirements like UCITS, AIFMD, ESMA, etc.
  • The ability to work and communicate with people across organizational units.
  • A high standard for customer service and proactive management of work queues.
  • Strong risk mitigation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effectiveness in process improvement and expense reduction.
  • Experience in managing teams in multiple locations or regions.
  • Ability to think critically and resolve complex problems.
  • A strategic mindset, looking at the bigger picture for the future of the organization.
  • A change agent with abilities to navigate challenges effectively.
