We are currently seeking a senior database administrator to support the growth of our enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical skills and experience in managing and supporting MS SQL databases including setup, configuration, and maintenance of failover clusters, always-on systems, and transaction replication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor database logs and event files for errors that may result in incidents
  • Ensure database availability through continuous monitoring and reporting
  • Configure and manage database replication, link servers, and hardening
  • Purge database logs and trace files on a regular basis
  • Review and recommend configurations to maintain consistent databases
  • Generate monthly reports on database availability
  • Respond to database-related incidents and drive corrective action
  • Tune database parameters for optimal performance
  • Correlate related incidents together into problem tickets and manage through the problem management process
  • Restore databases from backups when necessary
  • Support lower-level teams for handling critical issues
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
  • Experience in team management
  • Handling major incidents and root cause analysis
  • Database installation and troubleshooting
  • Always-on cluster configuration and management
  • Failover cluster management
  • Replication and link server configuration
  • Database patching and hardening
  • Job scheduling and maintenance planning
  • Prepared plans of action and rollback plans for database migrations
  • Planning and execution of new projects related to databases

The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, security, and performance of our MS SQL databases.
