Job Title: Backup Admin

At Virtusa, we are seeking a highly skilled Backup Admin to join our team. As a Backup Admin, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining backup and recovery strategies for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with infrastructure, application, data, and domain architecture functions to discuss and agree on backup-recovery and resilience testing strategies and tools.
  • Deliver secure, automated, self-serviced, innovative, and cost-efficient backup-recovery and resilient testing solutions for on-premises, cloud solutions using AWS, Azure, M365, or SaaS services.
  • Maintain and operate the service, identify areas of improvement, and continuously improve and prove the solutions can deliver the desired objectives in an efficient manner.
  • Enable customers to understand and use the services in the most effective way to realize business benefits quickly.
  • Collaborate with other team members through pairing and encourage an open collaborative working culture within and outside the team.
Requirements:
  • Experience in designing, planning, engineering, and operating strategies aligning data protection and recovery vaults in large enterprises with petabytes of data across infrastructure landscapes involving multiple technology products in multiple data centers and AWS, Azure Cloud Services.
  • Experience in backup and recovery of virtualized workloads, multiple clients, database agents with demonstrable experience and solution approaches.
  • Experience in development and infrastructure engineering with hands-on experience of coding for cloud-based technologies (ideally Python, Terraform, Unix).
  • Experience with NetBackup features of Storage Lifecycle Policies, AIR, OST, Cloud, Tape/VTL, Certificates, and OpsCenter.
  • Experience and knowledge of administration, operation, and reporting SAN, NAS, Object store platforms (VMAX, Brocade, NetApp, Isilon, ECS) and AWS, Azure Storage & Backup Solutions.
Must-Haves:
  • Experience with NetBackup domain with GUI and command line utilities for administration, operation, and reporting.
  • Experience with the design and administration of EMC Data Domain solutions using GUI and CLI.
  • Experience with Storage Lifecycle Policies, AIR, OST, Cloud, Tape/VTL, Certificates, and OpsCenter.
  • Experience and knowledge of SAN, NAS, Object store platforms (VMAX, XIO, Brocade, NetApp, Isilon, ECS) and AWS, Azure Storage & Backup Solutions.
